SUBHEATHEN is many things--a cyber dungeon, an imaginary friend, a thing to hide from loved ones--but in some cases, it's a fake record label that makes real records.
DAMNSEL started writing music in 2015 at the Sweet Summer age of 30. What began as a lo-fi no-known-chords punk band called "Jesus Destroy Them" morphed into a band called EFFORTS with Zach Grace & Geoffrey Maybe; from this spun the (let's just call it right now) future ashes of the side project DAMNSEL & THE EUTH GROUP, also with Geoffrey (whose real name is Geoffrey W. Osborne). And while two projects might be enough for anyone with minimal looks or talent, it was a particularly bad set of twin Fourth of July parties that caused a third project to ignite into everyone's free time: Beset. is (mostly) DAMNSEL, Giovanni The Weapon, and Noah Sabellico, but it's also a conglomerate of people with one goal: to make songs that sound like wizards shipwrecked on a tropical island (a feat that involves Zach Grace on Bass guitar, Gavin Mellberg on engineering & a kid named Matthew that everyone calls "Whistle Boy" on violin. If this were not enough, the somewhat-solo-but-not-really project DEATH.GIF was started sometime in 2018.
